The Comptroller-General of Customs, Wale Adeniyi, has promoted 13 senior officials in the Nigeria Customs Service to higher ranks.

This development was announced in a statement by Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer, in Abuja. The promotion includes five Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs), following the approval by the Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) on May 14.

Maiwada noted that the promotions were conducted in accordance with the Federal Character Commission’s regulations and the principles of seniority. He emphasized that the officers were recognized for their dedication and commitment to the service.

During the decoration ceremony, Comptroller-General Adeniyi encouraged the newly promoted officers to enhance their efforts in combating smuggling, boosting revenue generation, and facilitating trade. He also stressed the importance of having a unified vision to meet the mandates of their respective departments.
