General Musa Celebrates Christmas with Troops, Commends Their Dedication in Sokoto

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has urged front-line troops to remain steadfast and resolute in their responsibilities in ensuring the indivisibility of the country. 


He made this statement today, 26 December, 2024, during his feast with troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA,  Sokoto State, to commemorate with  the Christmas Day Celebration 


The CDS extends his appreciation to troops for their unwavering dedications and sacrifices in ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria.  

He added that the dislodgement of the re-emerged  Lakurawas' terrorist from their Camps in Sokoto and Kebbi States is testament to the Armed Forces of Nigeria commitment to resolving and combating all security challenges across the theaters of operations, while pledging the AFN continuous sustainance of operational tempo and posture across Military deployment both home and abroad. 


General Musa assured troops of necessary support and resources to carry out their tasks effectively, He also encouraged troops to embrace fostering unity, understanding, and compassion in all they do. 


The CDS further expressed his sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces for his relentless support and the confidence reposed on him to lead members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria 

General Musa expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, for his unwavering support. During his visit to the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Sokoto, the CDS made a stop at the hospital to interact with wounded and sick soldiers, offering them words of encouragement.


General Musa also addressed the troops, urging them to remain vigilant, stay focused, and uphold the highest standards of military professionalism in their duties.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General I.S. Ajose, described the event as a testament to General Musa's steadfast commitment to the welfare, morale, and operational efficiency of the troops.


He commended the CDS for his multiple visits within three months, which have provided him firsthand insights into the performance and challenges faced by the soldiers.


Major General Ajose further emphasized that the gathering was not only a celebration of the festive season but also an opportunity to reflect on collective sacrifices, achievements, and a renewed commitment to teamwork. 

He praised the troops for their courage, resilience, and professionalism, which he highlighted as crucial to the successes recorded in their operations so far.


The visit and celebration reaffirmed the leadership’s dedication to the well-being and operational success of the Nigerian Army.
