The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has called on the National Assembly to enhance budgetary allocations for the military, emphasizing the need for adequate resources to combat rising security threats across the nation.

Speaking during the Regimental Dinner and Award Night held to commemorate the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, General Musa highlighted the military's critical role in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He stated, “As budget deliberations approach, we anticipate significant support to strengthen our efforts in addressing terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges.”

The CDS stressed the importance of honoring fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price in defense of the country while acknowledging the courage and resilience of active-duty officers.

“This event not only honors the sacrifices of our fallen comrades but also celebrates the unwavering determination of our armed forces. We deeply appreciate the loyalty, dedication, and achievements of these brave men and women,” Musa remarked.

He reassured families of the deceased service members that their sacrifices would never be forgotten and underscored the military's commitment to ensuring their legacy is preserved. He further commended veterans and current personnel for their enduring contributions to national security.

In a gesture of gratitude, General Musa praised defense and service chiefs for their dedication to developing the Armed Forces, inspiring the next generation of military leaders.

“As we face numerous challenges, fostering unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility is paramount,” he urged. “We must ensure that the sacrifices of our heroes continue to inspire and guide us.”
