CDS General Musa Condoles with Our Nigeria News on Editor’s Passing

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Our Nigeria News following the passing of its esteemed editor, Mr. Lawrence Bilal Audu. Mr. Audu, a distinguished journalist, passed away in his sleep on Thursday, February 6, 2025.


Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau  in a press statement on Sunday noted that amongst many of his qualities, the CDS described late Lawrence as an embodiment of hard work who was committed to uplifting the practice of journalism in the country.


General Musa joins numerous well-meaning Nigerians in mourning this great loss and offering support to the media community during this difficult time.


The Defence chief said amongst many of his qualities, his  steadfast in ensuring rules and ethics of journalism are followed and respected in the reportage of events at all times.


He said, that the Late Audu was a prolific and dedicated Defence Correspondent and as the Editor in Chief of the North East Star Magazine, his dexteriry and efficiency in the report of the crisis which engulfed the North East was commendable.


General Musa said their path crossed when he was the Theater Commander, OPERATION HADIN KAI in the North East. He maintained that Mr Lawrence was a hard working, patriotic and dedicated journalist with a fine disposition.


General Musa prayed for the Almighty to protect, provide, guide and bless the family he left behind. He called on members of the Our News Magazine to continue to emulate late Lawrence dexteriry and commitment to duty, particularly, his penchant for the pursue of adherence to the ethos of the profession.
