NNS BEECROFT Commander Hosts Journalists, Pledges Collaboration

The Commander of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel, hosted journalists to a media parley aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between the Navy and the media.

The event brought together key stakeholders from the media sector, including representatives from Channels Television, Vanguard Media Limited, The Punch, Daily Trust, Daily Sun, and Thursday Newspaper, alongside senior naval officers from the base.

Commodore Nimmyel emphasized the crucial role of the media in preventing the spread of misinformation that could mislead the public.

He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining an open-door policy and urged journalists to view the Navy as partners in safeguarding Nigeria’s waterways and ensuring national security.

Commodore Nimmyel assured the media of a productive working relationship. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from a representative of the journalists, followed by a group photograph.
