NAF Airstrikes Decimate Bandit Convoy Along Kebbi–Zamfara Corridor

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a significant blow to criminal elements operating along the Kebbi–Zamfara axis, neutralising scores of armed bandits in a coordinated air operation under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

The airstrikes, targeted a large convoy of bandits traveling on motorcycles near Yarbuga in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Intelligence reports had revealed the movement of approximately 150 motorcycles, each carrying two armed fighters. Following positive identification of the threat.

However, NAF aircraft engaged the convoy with precision, inflicting heavy casualties and scattering the remaining fighters, some of whom were seen fleeing on foot and on surviving motorcycles.

In the aftermath of the strikes, NAF maintained aerial surveillance and launched follow-up attacks to disrupt any attempts at regrouping or retreat.

The troops conducted a mop-up operation in Yarbuga village. The troops recovered several burnt motorcycles, weapons, and the remains of many of the neutralised terrorists, further confirming the success of the joint operation.

The operation marks a strategic success in the fight against banditry in Nigeria’s northwest, and reinforces the Air Force’s resolve to deny criminal elements freedom of movement, protect civilian populations, and support broader efforts to restore peace and stability across the region.
