PERMANENT SECRETARY DEFENCE MINISTRY CALLS FOR SAFETY REVIEW AFTER DICON EXPLOSION

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Sunday Attah, has called for a comprehensive review of the recent ordnance explosion at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) in Kaduna.

The incident, which occurred on 21st September 2025, prompted Dr. Attah’s visit to the site on Thursday, 25th September, where he emphasized the need to strengthen safety measures to prevent a recurrence.

During the inspection, the Permanent Secretary urged DICON personnel to remain committed to their duties, assuring them that the setback should not demoralize their resolve to serve.

Briefing the delegation, the Director General of DICON, Major General B. I. Alaya, confirmed that the situation has been brought under control and reaffirmed the corporation’s adherence to established operational protocols.

Dr. Attah was accompanied on the visit by senior officials of the Ministry of Defence.
