The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced plans to conduct a joint Route March Exercise involving personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies on Thursday, 10th October 2025, beginning at 5:00 a.m.

In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the exercise will begin at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field, proceed through Mambilla Barracks, and return to the cantonment via Niger Barracks.

General Gusau explained that the Route March is a routine physical fitness exercise designed to enhance synergy, physical readiness, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

He also appealed to members of the public, particularly motorists and commuters along the Asokoro–AYA axis, to note the temporary traffic diversion and cooperate with officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic management authorities who will be on ground to ensure smooth movement.

The Defence Headquarters expressed regret for any inconvenience the exercise may cause and appreciated the understanding and support of the general public.
