The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has concluded his statewide Election Security Advocacy Tour with a final engagement held at the Awka Area Command Headquarters.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the meeting marked the concluding phase of a series of strategic sensitization and capacity building sessions aimed at preparing police personnel for professional and effective election security operations ahead of the forthcoming Anambra Governorship Election.

Addressing officers and men of the Command, CP Orutugu commended their dedication and discipline throughout the advocacy campaign, which covered all Area Commands and Divisions across the state.
He emphasized the need for neutrality, professionalism, and strict adherence to human rights principles during election duties.

Additionally, the Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to ensure the protection of lives and property before, during, and after the polls.

He disclosed that all tactical units, intelligence teams, and patrol formations have been placed on high alert, with robust logistics support and effective coordination with sister security agencies.

Orutugu further charged officers to remain vigilant, courageous, and guided by the core values of the Nigeria Police Force in maintaining peace and order throughout the electoral process.

However, he called on residents to remain law abiding and security conscious, assuring the public of the Police Command’s continued collaboration with communities and stakeholders to ensure a peaceful, credible, and transparent election in Anambra State.
