JUST IN: FG Orders Closure of 47 Unity Colleges Amid Security Concerns

The Nigerian government has ordered the immediate closure of 47 federal Unity Colleges, citing growing security concerns in parts of the country.

A circular released on Friday said the decision aims to prevent potential security breaches. The directive was approved by Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education, and signed by Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education.

Principals of the affected schools have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the closure order.

The government did not provide a timeline for reopening the schools.
