The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration in tackling security challenges and promoting national stability.

This commitment was underscored during a strategic meeting between the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Disu Olatunji, at the NCS Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.

Speaking during the engagement, Adeniyi congratulated the IGP on his appointment and expressed confidence in his capacity to effectively lead the police force. He stressed the importance of enhanced cooperation among security agencies in addressing emerging threats and safeguarding the country's interests.

According to the Customs boss, stronger collaboration between the NCS and the NPF is essential to restoring peace and improving security across the nation.

“The NCS stands with the NPF in these challenging times. We will continue to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across the country. Together, we can strengthen the safety and stability of our nation,” Adeniyi said.

He further noted that sustained cooperation between both agencies would boost operational efficiency, intelligence sharing, and coordinated responses to evolving security concerns.

In his remarks, Inspector-General Olatunji thanked the Comptroller-General and the Customs management team for the warm reception, describing the visit as an opportunity to reinforce the longstanding partnership between the two institutions.

“The purpose of this visit is to deepen our relationship and reaffirm that you have a reliable partner in the NPF. Sustained collaboration among our personnel will enhance our collective efforts in addressing security challenges,” the police chief stated.

The meeting also provided a platform for both agencies to discuss areas of mutual interest and strengthen their shared resolve to advance national security, peace, and development through effective inter-agency cooperation.

Security analysts have consistently advocated closer collaboration among law enforcement and security agencies, noting that coordinated intelligence gathering and joint operations remain critical to addressing the country's complex security challenges.
