The Director General highlighted the role of the NYSC in promoting national unity, integration and social cohesion since its establishment, noting that the Scheme has continued to foster cultural exchange, inter-tribal relationships, youth empowerment and job creation opportunities.
He added that Corps Members have also made remarkable contributions to critical sectors such as health and education through the deployment of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to hospitals, as well as teachers to public schools nationwide.
"We seek your continued support in providing an enabling environment for us to effectively discharge our mandate," Nafiu said.
He further disclosed that the Scheme is implementing reforms aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing service delivery to Nigerians.
Responding, the GOC 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, commended the NYSC Director General for the achievements recorded since assuming office.
