2026 WAFCON: Necessary Information's About Women's Africa Cup of Nations

Fascinating information about the much delayed 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) billed to kick-start from 26th July in Morocco, with the North African Nation hosting the continental championship for the third straight time in a row.

Despite several reactions and delayed from the scheduled date for 17th March to 3rd April 2026. The much-anticipated tournament was postponed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) just days before its planned start because of what the governing body described as "unforeseen circumstances."

Former champions South Africa lead Group B with Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Tanzania, while Ghana headline Group D alongside Cameroon, Mali and first-time participants Cape Verde.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals.

Team Nigeria 'Super Falcons are aiming and targeting to continue their dominating form. Also, having shown superiority in Ten Times in a row; thereby remaining undisputed.  

The Super Falcons arrive in Morocco as defending champions and remain Africa's most successful women's national team with 10 WAFCON titles.

Head coach Justin Madugu will rely on an experienced squad led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, who was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player at the previous edition, while three-time African Goalkeeper of the Year Chiamaka Nnadozie is expected to play a key role.

South Africa, champions in 2022, remain among the favorites under experienced coach Desiree Ellis, while hosts Morocco will hope home support helps them go one better after finishing runners-up in the last two editions.
