The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has paid a condolence visit to former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State and former Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, following the death of his wife, Hajiya Hauwa'u Kulu Nasiha.

During the visit to Senator Nasiha's residence in Gusau on Saturday, Matawalle described the former deputy governor as a close friend, loyal political associate and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the family's bereavement was a loss shared by the entire party.

The minister said he travelled to Gusau to personally sympathise with Senator Nasiha and his family over the passing of Hajiya Hauwa'u, who reportedly died on Saturday evening in India.

Matawalle recalled their years of working together while serving as Governor of Zamfara State and Senator Nasiha served as his deputy, noting that they shared a common commitment to the development and service of the people of the state.

"Senator Nasiha is a personal friend and a committed party stalwart. We worked closely together when I served as governor and he as deputy governor. We shared many experiences in the service of Zamfara people," the minister said.

He added that the death of Hajiya Hauwa'u came as a shock and had left many within the APC family saddened.

"The loss to Senator Nasiha's family is a great loss to all of us. I came personally to condole with him and the entire family during this difficult time," Matawalle stated.

Responding, Senator Nasiha expressed appreciation to the minister and members of his entourage for the condolence visit, describing his wife's death as shocking and an irreparable loss to the family.

The minister offered prayers for the repose of the deceased's soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus and to give the bereaved family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.

Matawalle was accompanied on the visit by Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya'u, representing Zamfara North; former Deputy Governor Mukhtar Ahmad Anka; former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly and Federal Commissioner at the National Population Commission, Nasiru Mu'azu Magarya; Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Yazeed Shehu Danfulani; Zamfara APC Secretary, Ibrahim Maigandi; as well as other party leaders and associates.
