Nigerian Army, Police Strengthen Partnership to Tackle Security Challenges

The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter agency collaboration as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria's security architecture and effectively respond to emerging security threats across the country.

The renewed commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedo, to the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Onyechi Appolonia Anele, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the meeting, Colonel Anele said the increasingly complex nature of modern security challenges requires sustained cooperation among security and intelligence agencies. 

She stressed the need for enhanced intelligence sharing, operational coordination, strategic communication and institutional support to improve the nation's security response.

Congratulating the Force PRO on his appointment, Anele reiterated the Nigerian Army's commitment to strengthening its long-standing partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in line with the Chief of Army Staff's command philosophy of transforming the Army into a more professional, adaptive, combat-ready and resilient force capable of operating effectively within a joint and multi-agency environment.

She noted that closer collaboration between the two institutions would further strengthen ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency, kidnapping, banditry and other forms of criminality, while also enhancing public confidence in Nigeria's security institutions.

In his remarks, CSP Iniedo commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism, sacrifices and achievements in joint security operations across the country. He observed that the enduring partnership between the Army and the Police has contributed significantly to improving internal security.

The Police spokesperson also called for stronger collaboration between the public relations departments of both organisations to enhance strategic communication, counter misinformation and present a unified national security narrative.

The meeting concluded with both institutions reaffirming their shared commitment to sustaining and expanding inter-agency cooperation in support of the Federal Government's efforts to improve security and safeguard lives and property across the country.
