Spain crown 2026 FIFA World Cup as Lionel Messi wept

With so much synergy, team chemistry and cohesion, the Spanish soccer team fought their way through to glory. In a clinical finish during the preliminary stage; excellence performance from round 32 till date; Spain won the 2026 FIFA World Cup, defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0 in the final at the New York/New Jersey Stadium. 


However, the Barcelona forward Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 106th minute of extra time. Argentina had played the extra period with 10 men after Enzo Fernández was sent off late in normal time.


The dramatic victory capped a historic tournament for La Roja, who claimed their second World Cup title and became the first team in history to win the tournament while only conceding a single goal.

Undisputed Spain dominated the individual award categories at the 2026 World Cup, with Rodri being named the player of the tournament after leading his country to the trophy on Sunday 19th, 2026.
