Desmond Elliot Returns to Nollywood After APC Primary Defeat
By Harriet Tornguvan
Popular Nollywood actor and Lagos State lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, appears to have returned to movie production following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election earlier this year.
Elliot was recently spotted on a film set alongside veteran actor Ibrahim Chatta, signalling what many believe is a return to his acting career after his unsuccessful bid to secure the APC ticket for Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The actor-politician lost the party's primary election to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, ending his attempt to retain his legislative seat.
Photos from the movie location, which have since gone viral on social media, show Elliot and Chatta engaged in conversation with another individual during what appeared to be a break in filming.
One of the major highlights of the images was Elliot's striking appearance. He was seen wearing plaited cornrows adorned with cowries, a look that suggests he may be playing a character in a traditional or period-themed production.
The photos have generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing humorous comments while others praised the actor for returning to the profession that first brought him national recognition.
Before venturing into politics, Elliot built a successful career in Nollywood, featuring in and producing numerous films. His latest appearance on a movie set has sparked speculation that he is once again focusing on his acting career following the political setback.
Although details of the movie remain undisclosed, the viral images have generated excitement among fans, many of whom are eager to see the actor back on the big screen.
