INEC: 1.9m PVCs Collected Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), representing 81.50 per cent of the 2,339,233 registered voters in Osun State, have been collected ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

According to him, 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent of the total registered voters, remain uncollected and have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in line with the Commission’s established practice.

Haruna also disclosed that some registered voters whose PVCs were damaged, defaced or lost had applied for replacement.

He said a total of 6,101 applicants printed downloadable copies of their PVCs following the replacement process.

The Commission further announced that a detailed table showing PVCs collected at each Polling Unit across the state had been published on its official website.

INEC assured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and residents of Osun State of its preparedness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive governorship election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The Commission urged all stakeholders to support the electoral process and ensure a peaceful conduct of the election.
