The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on corps members and staff across the country to imbibe the values of sacrifice, gratitude, peace, and compassion as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Director-General, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, described the Eid-el-Fitr season as a period that reflects virtues closely aligned with the ideals of the NYSC scheme.

She urged corps members to consistently demonstrate these values in their daily conduct, noting that their roles as agents of national development require discipline, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility.

According to her, the service year provides a unique opportunity for young Nigerians to promote unity and foster mutual understanding across cultural and religious divides.

The NYSC also emphasized the need for corps members and staff to remain committed to national unity, selfless service, and respect for one another, regardless of differences in background.

“Your collective efforts are essential in building a more peaceful, cohesive, and prosperous Nigeria,” the statement noted.

The scheme further expressed optimism that the Eid-el-Fitr celebration would bring renewed strength, joy, and fulfillment to corps members in their service to the nation.

Reaffirming its commitment to nation-building, the NYSC encouraged all members to continue to uphold the motto of the scheme, stressing that Nigeria’s progress depends on the dedication and unity of its citizens.
