By; Sunny Canto
Team Nigeria's incredible performance alongside the North-Africa Sport giant, Egypt have secured a well-deserved qualification for the 2026 ITTF World Youth Championships billed to hold in Istanbul, Turkey after their outstanding outing at the Youth Championships in Accra, Ghana.
The remarkable fit yielded positive results for the two Table Tennis powerhouses in the continent's qualification slots from emerging champions in their respective team events at the continental competition. Egypt proved their worth of experience and superiority in the championships, with its U-15 boys' and girls' teams as well as the U-19 girls' team all claiming qualification for the global event, which will take place from November 21st to 28th in Istanbul.
Similarly, West-Africa and sport giant, Nigeria also secured a place at the prestigious tournament through its U-19 boys' team, which emerged victorious in its category to complete Africa's list of representatives. However, the qualification marks another significant milestone achievement for both nations, who will now carry Africa's hopes at the ITTF World Youth Championships later this year in Turkey.
Conclusively, the both team contingents have enough experience and grassroot development plans to stand hurdle's and challenges from the European opponents if adequate trainings; measures are put in place for the International championship.
