IRGC Claims Missile Strikes On U.S. Bases In Kuwait And Bahrain

According to a statement issued by the IRGC, the operation was carried out in response to what it described as U.S. attacks on radar installations located on Qeshm and Sirik islands in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province.

The IRGC also claimed that four oil tankers attempted to transit the Strait of Hormuz late Friday under the protection of U.S. military forces despite repeated warnings from Iranian authorities. The statement alleged that one tanker was struck and detained after failing to comply, while the remaining vessels withdrew from the area.

Iran further warned that any future attacks against its territory would be met with a broader military response. The statement added that any escalation could result in the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route for oil and natural gas exports.

The latest developments come amid heightened regional tensions following a conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran that lasted from February 28 to April 7. The confrontation significantly disrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and raised concerns about global energy supplies.

The conflict began after the United States and Israel launched airstrikes against targets in Iran amid stalled nuclear negotiations. Iran subsequently responded with missile and drone attacks against Israeli and U.S. installations across the region.

A ceasefire agreement was reached on April 7 through mediation efforts led by Pakistan. However, follow-up talks between U.S. and Iranian officials in Islamabad on April 11 failed to produce a breakthrough, leaving key disputes unresolved and tensions continuing to simmer.
