NDIC Wins SERVICOM Best Performing Parastatal Award, MD Honoured for Service Excellence
The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation has been recognised by SERVICOM for outstanding service delivery, receiving the award for Best Performing Parastatal SERVICOM Unit (Team D), while its Managing Director/Chief Executive, Thompson Oludare Sunday, was named the Most Supportive Chief Executive (Team D).
The awards were presented during a courtesy visit by a SERVICOM delegation led by its Acting National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer, Helen Lawal, to the NDIC headquarters in Abuja.
In addition to the corporation's recognition, the NDIC's Nodal Officer emerged as the Second Best Performing Nodal Officer in Team D.
Speaking during the presentation, Lawal described quality service delivery as a key indicator of good governance, noting that SERVICOM remains committed to promoting excellence across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
She commended the NDIC for its customer-focused initiatives, including the Service Level Agreement Management System (SLAMS), an efficient customer call centre and robust complaint management mechanisms, which she said have contributed significantly to improving public service delivery.
Responding, Sunday expressed appreciation to SERVICOM for recognising the corporation's efforts and reaffirmed NDIC's commitment to delivering its statutory mandate with efficiency, transparency and professionalism.
He said the corporation would continue to strengthen public confidence in Nigeria's financial system by ensuring prompt, reliable and customer-oriented services.
At the end of the meeting, both organisations agreed to sustain high service standards, maintain the NDIC's 98.6 per cent deposit coverage, improve claims payment processes, enhance staff capacity development and strengthen service delivery.
They also resolved to institutionalise the corporation's new core values of Excellence, Professionalism, Innovation, Integrity and Collaboration (EPIC) across all operations as part of efforts to position the NDIC as a global leader in deposit insurance.
Other resolutions reached include strengthening customer complaint management, reviewing the NDIC Service Charter to align with global best practices and stakeholder expectations, and deepening collaboration between the two organisations through regular joint engagements, information sharing and a monitoring framework to ensure accountability and sustained improvements in customer focused public service.
Keep on the good work
