Tinubu Meets Defence Minister in Lagos, Reviews Security Operations

President Bola Tinubu has received the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), for a strategic meeting at the Presidential Residence in Lagos.
The meeting focused on a review of Nigeria’s national defence framework, ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations, as well as efforts to strengthen inter-agency security coordination across the country.
According to a statement signed by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded in securing vulnerable communities and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Ministry of Defence.
During the meeting, General Musa briefed the President on ongoing defence initiatives, frontline operational logistics and proposed reforms aimed at improving troop morale, modernising military hardware and strengthening defence infrastructure across the country.
The Defence Minister also expressed appreciation for the President’s continued guidance and support for the nation’s security agencies.
He assured that the Ministry of Defence remained committed to fulfilling its mandate with resolve and integrity, particularly in addressing security challenges confronting the country.
The meeting formed part of the President’s ongoing security briefings and policy alignment engagements with key government officials, aimed at ensuring coordinated and decisive responses to security and economic challenges nationwide.
